Module 4: Simple Past Tense – Daily Activities & Storytelling
1. Introduction to Simple Past Tense
The Simple Past Tense is used to talk about:
- Actions completed in the past
- Yesterday, last night, last week, last year
- Past habits and experiences
Keywords: yesterday, ago, last night, last week, in 2024
2. Sentence Structure
Affirmative: Subject + Verb (past form)
Negative: Subject + did not + base verb
Question: Did + subject + base verb?
3. Regular Verbs (-ed form)

5. Negative Sentences

7. Short Storytelling Practice
Example:
Yesterday, I woke up early. I brushed my teeth and took a bath.
Then I went to school. I studied English and played with my friends.
In the evening, I returned home and watched TV.
Speaking Task:
Speak about your yesterday in 6–8 sentences.
8. Common Mistakes
- ❌ I did went to school → ✅ I did go to school
- ❌ She eated food → ✅ She ate food
- ❌ Did you went there? → ✅ Did you go there?
