Sentence Expansion means making a sentence **longer, clearer, and more meaningful** by adding:

This skill is very important for **spoken English, exams, interviews, and writing**.

1. Basic Sentence Expansion

Base Sentence Expanded Sentence
I eat. I eat food.
I eat food. I eat healthy food.
I eat healthy food. I eat healthy food every morning.
I eat healthy food every morning. I eat healthy food every morning at home.
Rule:
Start with a short sentence and add information step by step.

2. Expansion Using Adjectives

Simple Expanded
She has a dress. She has a beautiful dress.
He bought a car. He bought a new car.
The boy is playing. The small boy is playing.
Pattern:
Adjective + Noun

3. Expansion Using Adverbs

Sentence Expanded Sentence
She speaks English. She speaks English fluently.
He works. He works hard.
The teacher explains. The teacher explains clearly.
Pattern:
Verb + Adverb

4. Expansion Using Time & Place

Base Sentence Expanded Sentence
I study. I study at night.
She goes to school. She goes to school every day.
They met. They met in the market yesterday.

5. Expansion Using Reason (Because)

Simple Sentence Expanded Sentence
He is happy. He is happy because he passed the exam.
She stayed home. She stayed home because she was ill.

6. Full Sentence Expansion

Base: I go to school.

Expanded:
I go to school every day in the morning with my friends because I want to learn.
